Description

Attention all graphic novelists: Do you love kids? Are you excited by the idea of helping children learn to write short stories with beginnings, middles, and (drum roll) endings? Writopia Lab, an award-winning 501(c)3 non-profit that runs the country's best creative writing workshops for kids, ages 6-18, is looking for graphic noveling instructors for our Upper West Side and Brooklyn locations, and possibly some of our off-site programs.

During the school year, workshops meet once a week for ten weeks. All young writers finish at least one story by the end of their workshop.

Our teachers are half camp counselor (fun and funny, warm and engaging) and half savvy editor/teacher (astute, insightful, serious, open, sensitive). We train teachers extensively in our method and are looking for published fiction authors and/or produced playwrights. To find out more information regarding who we are and what we do here at Writopia, please visit our website at www.writopialab.org.

If you are excited by the idea of joining a community of writers and helping children and teens learn to create stories through graphic noveling, please fill out this short form. (Don’t forget to attach your resume, cover letter, and publication history!) No phone calls or drop ins, please.
