Description

Attention all fiction writers and playwrights: Do you love kids? Are you excited by the idea of helping children learn to write short stories with beginnings, middles, and (drum roll) endings? Writopia Lab, an award-winning 501(c)3 non-profit that runs the country's best creative writing workshops for kids, ages 6-18, is looking for school-year instructors for our Tenleytown, Capitol Hill, Falls Church, and Rockville locations.

During the school year, workshops meet once a week for ten weeks. All young writers finish at least one story by the end of their workshop.

Our teachers are half camp counselor (fun and funny, warm and engaging) and half savvy editor/teacher (astute, insightful, serious, open, sensitive). We train teachers extensively in our method and are looking for published fiction authors and/or produced playwrights.

If you are excited by the idea of joining a community of writers and helping children and teens learn to write, please fill out this short form. (Don’t forget to attach your resume, cover letter, and publication history!) No phone calls or drop ins, please.
