Writopia Lab, a creative writing non-profit, is looking for talented, smart, and dedicated male counselors across the NYC and DC regions to assist boys side during our summer Sleepaway camp, WriCampia, during the month of August 2017. Our camps are designed for kids ages 8 to 18, and our young writers produce stories, poems, plays, graphic novels, songs, and more.  

Though this is a paid position, we are looking for people with a passion for the art of the word and a love of working with young writers. You will be working in a hands-on, collaborative, and fun environment.

WriCampia camp runs from August 14th to August 25th at IHC in Honesdale, PA and will be paid via stipend. Training for Sleepaway includes two weeks of working at Writopia’s full-day camp (the first two weeks of August) at our New York City location on the UWS of Manhattan or at our D.C. location in Tenleytown.

We are happy to sign off paperwork for programs that offer academic credit.

Writopia counselors are teaching assistants who are able to serve as role models to our young writers while cultivating their confidence in and love for writing. While in workshop, counselors provide typing, editorial, and moral support to our writers. For our full-day camp and sleepaway programming, Writopia counselors support our literary electives and hang out and work with our students throughout the day.
