Description

Do you love working in early childhood education? Or, do you write professionally for very young children? Are you excited by the idea of helping young storytellers celebrate the creative process and learn to craft stories? Writopia Lab, an award-winning 501(c)3 non-profit that runs the country's best creative writing workshops for kids ages 2-18, is looking for part-time teachers for our Upper West Side Location for our youngest cohort--ages 2-6.

During the school year, workshops meet once a week for ten weeks. During the summer and all school breaks, we run week-long intensives. Writopia Lab language play is a story-building workshop for 2-6 year-olds. Writopia instructors lead and follow children through imaginary adventures that expand vocabulary, foster linear and critical thinking skills, and build confidence through self expression.

Our teachers are half camp counselor (fun and funny, warm and engaging) and half savvy editor/teacher (astute, insightful, serious, open, sensitive). We train teachers extensively in our method. If this sounds like you, please fill out this short form and apply as soon as possible. No phone calls or drop ins, please.
