Do you love kids? Are you excited by the idea of helping children create short films? Writopia Lab, an award-winning 501(c)3 non-profit that runs the country's best creative writing workshops for kids, ages 6-18, is looking for a Part-Time Filmmaking Elective Counselors for our Washington, D.C. locations.

We are looking for a talented filmmaker skilled in the art of using Final Cut Pro X and/or iMovie as well as Adobe's suite of media applications (i.e. After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) to help edit various film projects created by kids and teens during our summer camp electives. During the summer, filmmaking electives meet for three hours in the afternoon from Monday through Friday for week-long intensives.  All young writers finish at least one short film by the end of their elective.

Filmmaking Elective Counselors are half teachers, half camp counselor, and are able to serve as role models to our young writers while cultivating their love for writing and confidence. Filmmaking Elective Counselors will guide young filmmakers through every step of the production process; screenwriting and visual storytelling, supervise shoots, and provide editing support for films written and produced by our talented young filmmakers, ages 6-18.
