Description

Attention all graphic novelists and artists: Do you love kids? Are you excited by the idea of helping children learn to write short graphic novels with beginnings, middles, and (drum roll) endings? Writopia Lab, an award-winning 501(c)3 non-profit that runs the country's best creative writing workshops for kids, ages 6-18, is looking for summer Graphic Noveling Elective Counselors for Washington, DC locations.

We are looking for talented artists and graphic novelists to lead afternoon graphic noveling electives during our summer programming. During the summer, graphic noveling electives meet for three hours in the afternoon from Monday through Friday for week-long intensives. All young writers/artists finish at least one graphic story/comic by the end of their elective.

Our elective counselors are half camp counselor (fun and funny, warm and engaging) and half savvy editor/teacher (astute, insightful, serious, open, sensitive). We train elective counselors extensively in our method. To find out more information regarding who we are and what we do here at Writopia, please visit our website at www.writopialab.org.

If you are excited by the idea of joining a community of writers and helping children and teens learn to create stories through graphic noveling, please fill out this short form. (Don’t forget to attach your resume, cover letter, and publication history!) No phone calls or drop ins, please.
