Attention all songwriters: Do you love kids? Are you excited by the idea of helping children learn to write lyrics and melodies? Writopia Lab, an award-winning 501(c)3 non-profit that runs the country's best creative writing workshops for kids, ages 6-18, is looking for Part-Time Songwriting Elective Counselors for our Washington, D.C. locations.

We are looking for talented lyricists, rappers, and musicians to lead afternoon songwriting electives during our summer programming. During the summer, songwriting electives meet for three hours in the afternoon from Monday through Friday for week-long intensives. All young writers finish at least one song by the end of their elective.

Our elective counselors are half camp counselor (fun and funny, warm and engaging) and half savvy editor/teacher (astute, insightful, serious, open, sensitive). We train elective counselors extensively in our method and are looking for talented musicians and lyricists.

If you are excited by the idea of joining a community of writers and helping children and teens learn to write lyrics and melodies, please apply through this short form. (Don’t forget to attach your resume, cover letter, and answer the question “Why do you want to work at Writopia?”
